Calls for expressions of interest

Research on the recruitment and retention of teachers

As part of our flagship research theme on supporting the recruitment and retention of teachers in schools with high levels of disadvantaged pupils, we’re looking for expressions of interest from research teams and organisations on priority research questions in two areas.

1. Teacher recruitment 

We’re interested in understanding how different strategies and/​or incentives like flexible working featured in job advertisements can attract potential candidates.

We’re interested in understanding how different approaches in three key areas – flexible working, school leadership and climate, workload reduction – can support teacher retention, particularly in schools with high numbers of socio-economically disadvantaged pupils.
